Remembering the 19th Avenue Jet

From the 1950s to the early 1990s, three different retired Navy jets served as playground equipment in San Francisco's Larsen Park along 19th Avenue.

Now, after twenty jet-less years, Friends of Larsen Playground is working with District Four Supervisor Katy Tang, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, and the San Francisco Parks Alliance to create a new jet-inspired play structure for future generations.

Help Plan the
Third Annual Soap Box Derby

Please join the Friends of Larsen Playground to plan for the 3rd Annual 20th Avenue Soapbox Derby coming in October 2014! The Soapbox Derby is a family friendly event where kids of all ages race each other down the gentle slope of 20th Avenue in home-made cars. The event raises funds for the completion and stewardship of the new Larsen Playground. We've had a great turn out for the last two years, and need more volunteers to make this event even more fun and successful. There are volunteer opportunities of all commitment levels, so please come and find one that works for you! Join the planning committee, or just sign up to work for the day! For more information, visit the FOLP Facebook page.
